My experience with Nordic Plains was nothing short of perfect. From the very first phone call I had with Jake I knew that this was where I would want to do my CFI/II. I had called probably just about every other accelerated CFI course in country and every single one of them failed to check every single box whether it be a bad intro call, plane availability, avionics, personality, etc. My first call with Jake was about an hour long and he was not only able to answer every single question I asked him but he did so candidly and without judgement. He understands that students are going to be flying halfway across the country to come here and he wants to make sure you have no reservations about booking your flight out to see them. Upon arrival, everything was exactly as advertised; no surprise maintenance/instructor delays, no bureaucratic nonsense, just fly study, present, repeat. I completed my CFI and II in 3 weeks to the day which was the original timeline I had given them. At no point did I feel rushed into an exam, forced to do lessons I didn’t need, or cheated/scammed out of money. Jake and Eveli are two of the last remaining honest flight school owners out there and they want nothing more than for you to not just pass your exam but becomes a good pilot/instructor. I could go on and on about them and cannot recommend them enough, I implore you to pick up the phone and give them a call.

Fantastic experience! Excellent, knowledgeable and committed CFI, friendly and supportive FBO, fun planes to train in, clean airport with multiple runways; beautiful lakes, prairies, fields and forests to fly over. A great school to learn to fly or extend your ratings.

Super nice flight school, I’m surprised we have this place here. The class-room is fantastic, and they have a Redbird 3d flight simulator in the room! Fergus Falls airport is so nice and clean, the FBO staff (Cody) is super friendly, and Bob the mechanic is there to take care of any issues.

Jake, Eveli, and Megan are the CFI’s, they are all super nice, I feared I would be yelled at while training in the air, but that never happened, it was always a friendly experience – I enjoyed my flight time with Megan, she was my main CFI, but I flew once with Eveli, and she was as relaxing to be with in the plane as Megan.

I now fly with Jake in the Arrow. He is very professional, a great teacher and I learn a lot from him. Same relaxed atmosphere, I never feel stressed with Jake or the other CFI’s.

I did get my PPL in January, it was a great experience to learn about aviation at Nordic Plains Aviation flight school. One of the best in my life.. Thank You all !!
